We are delighted to have been awarded ‘Partnership of the Year 2021’ in the Charity Today Awards for our work with Dig Deep (Africa). The award celebrates the Kilometres for Kenya campaign we created in tandem with Dig Deep.
After making it through to the final two, it was a hotly-contested poll to decide the winner via Twitter. In the end, the two finalists couldn’t be separated, which means we share the award with the very worthy Midlands Air Ambulance and M6 Toll. A history-making result as it’s the first time there’s been joint winners in the award’s ten years of running.
The Kilometres for Kenya campaign
The campaign we created in partnership with Dig Deep was a really exciting one and something we’re proud to have played a role in. Dig Deep is looking to make a direct, sustainable impact at a grassroots level in Kenya, helping to improve the lives of the country’s poorest residents.
The charity runs a selection of international challenges for a few hundred fundraisers on an annual basis. Unfortunately, due to Covid, these challenges had to be postponed. As a result, Dig Deep decided an innovative virtual event was needed to engage supporters and raise funds.
Fortunately, this dove-tailed perfectly with the launch of Enthuse Virtual Journeys. Thanks to the premium functionality of Virtual Journeys+, Dig Deep was able to create a totally bespoke map, taking fundraisers on an interactive journey around the exact rural locations where its volunteers work. It meant the charity could bring its work to life and tell a story at each milestone, a story that was deeply connected to the fundraiser’s journey – allowing supporters to see the progress they were enabling with their generosity.
Dig Deep set a fundraising target of £100 per person for supporters completing the route. It proved to be successful with just under 50% of participants exceeding the target and the top fundraiser raising over £1.3k. Overall, the charity raised over £10k with Gift Aid.
“We found Virtual Journeys to be a very innovative platform. It allowed us to create an effective campaign that engaged our supporters and offered them something different. It also gave us the chance to get creative and tell our story, with our branding, exactly the way we wanted.”
Rachael Heaton, Partnerships & Engagement Manager
Recognition for innovation
“Our Virtual Journeys solution has helped hundreds of charities during Covid and that’s testament to the innovative work of our product and technology team. Virtual events have been a vital tool for causes during the pandemic but it’s the charities themselves that bring them to life. The Kilometres for Kenya campaign is an excellent example of successful supporter engagement and we’re really proud to have played a part in it.
It’s fantastic to see industry recognition for the campaign. I just want to say congratulations to Dig Deep again who are deserving winners and to the hard working team of Enthusiasts who made it possible.”
Chester Mojay-Sinclare, Founder & CEO, Enthuse
