This week we’re announcing the integration of Strava with our virtual events and fundraising product. This will let charity supporters record and easily share their indoor or outdoor fitness activity as well as giving them the ability to update videos and pictures from their runs, cycles or at home workouts. The is part of a wider Fundraising and Event registration product update to help charities better navigate the COVID-19 crisis.
Our virtual events capability lets charities create remote participation events and fundraising challenges based on both individual and overall event targets. The targets can be either distance or time based and the direct integration with Strava allows easy tracking and updating, whether for an outside or indoor based virtual event. The product also provides automated fundraising page creation, under a charities’ brand, which reduces page abandonment by up to 75% helping charities raise more for their cause. Charities such as littlelifts and Keech Hospice Care are just a couple of our clients that have already launched virtual events as part of their COVID-19 responses.
These developments follow the acquisition of Primo Events last year, and have seen both products integrated onto one platform to offer an all in one solution for fundraising and events registration. Improvements include automatic fundraising page creation for participants; advanced charity-branded behavioural emails to encourage fundraising; page prompts to drive more donations; and increased control for charities over the levels of information registrants need to provide to optimise sign ups.

The platform development is one part of CharityCheckout’s ongoing response to the crisis, and Strava is the first of a number of integrations that will be rolled out. The company has also put together a series of packages to help, such as expert webinars and emergency appeal pages, which many charities have already rolled out to their supporters.
