The 2024 TCS London Marathon set a new world record for the biggest annual one-day fundraising event, after passing the £67 million raised mark.
Enthuse, the official online fundraising partner of the TCS London Marathon, has raised over £28 million to date through the platform.
This means the 2024 event has already beaten the existing world record of £66.4 million, which was set at the 2019 London Marathon, with the total still rising.
Chester Mojay-Sinclare, Founder & CEO of Enthuse, said:
“What an incredible event and a brilliant day with such a huge amount raised for good causes. This is the third year we have been the official online partner for the TCS London Marathon and it’s incredible to see the growth over that time – our fundraising total of £28 million for the event, so far, is more than 200 per cent higher than in our first year.
“It’s such a special day for the sector and we’re delighted for all the charities that will benefit from the public’s generosity. We’re already looking forward to the 2025 event.”
Hugh Brasher, Event Director for the TCS London Marathon, added:
“The 2024 TCS London Marathon broke many records over the weekend and this fantastic news from Enthuse and JustGiving means that we have already broken our own world record of £66.4 million from 2019 as the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event. This is a wonderful achievement and huge thanks to every single person involved.
“The total will continue to grow as many donations come in after the event weekend, so we will announce the final total in the coming months.”
An incredible 53,000 people completed the 2024 TCS London Marathon and 2025 already looks set to be a bumper year, with a record-breaking 840,000 people applying via the ballot.
A sizeable increase from the previous record which was 578,304 for the 2024 edition.
