2026 tcs london marathon break fundraising record with enthuse as official fundraising partner

The 2026 TCS London Marathon has broken its own world record for an annual one-day fundraising event! With over £87.5 million already raised, it surpassed the £87.3 million total set last year. The final total will be announced in September and is expected to be more than £90 million.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Enthuse, the official online fundraising partner of the TCS London Marathon, has set its own personal best, raising over £42.2 million for good causes through the platform so far. This is up £7m (22%) on the same time a year ago, with the donations still rolling in.

“A record-breaking amount raised for charities yet again – an incredible achievement! We’re delighted to see that £42.2m has been raised for good causes through Enthuse so far, a 22% increase on this time last year, and we’re excited to see what we can achieve together as the official fundraising partner until 2034.”

“At a time where finances are tight for many, the TCS London Marathon continues to bring out the best in humanity and inspire charitable giving like no other event.”

Eddie Allenby, General Manager at Enthuse

The fundraising record wasn’t the only world record to shout about this year, with the TCS London Marathon also picking up the title of the world’s largest ever marathon, with 59,830 participants finishing the course. What’s more, an incredible 1.34m people have entered the ballot to take part in the 2027 event, which is the highest number of applicants the TCS London Marathon has ever received. This is a real testament not only to the quality of the event but also the public’s appetite to take on mass participation events.

“The 2026 TCS London Marathon was an extraordinary day of world records, from the elite men and women running such extraordinary times, to the participation numbers, and now in fundraising. It is fantastic to know we have already surpassed our £87.3 million world record from 2025. Huge thanks to everyone who fundraised, and to everyone who donated to such a wide range of charities.”

Hugh Brasher, CEO of London Marathon Events

The Enthuse team is delighted to see such a brilliant amount of money go to so many worthy causes this year and we’re really excited at the positive impact this will undoubtedly make. We saw 16,500 active fundraising pages on the official platform this year, making Enthuse the first choice for fundraisers. The pages reached a fantastic average value of £2,993 – a 11% increase on 2025.

Results like these are only possible because of the brilliant support that charities provide their participants. From sign-up all the way through to the finish line, good causes went out of their way to make their fundraisers feel valued in 2026. Here’s a few ways charities can do the same in 2027.

Make it eventful

Hosting in-person get-togethers is a great way to build a connection with fundraisers. It could be a training session or a shakeout run, whatever it is, it allows runners to meet charity representatives and to ask any questions they have. More than that, it also gives them the opportunity to meet their fellow fundraisers and feel part of a team.

Tailored service

Blanket communications to fundraisers can miss the mark. It can seem impersonal or even irrelevant. By using the Enthuse email journey, charities can break down communications based on how much a runner has raised or not yet raised, and tailor email journeys for charity place versus own place runners. A great way to ensure relevant, timely information for all participants.

Fundraising guidance

Another way good causes can drive strong fundraising is by offering guidance to its participants. Engaging with runners and providing encouragement is a great start but going beyond that with fundraising tips, advice on optimising fundraising pages and sharing success stories can help participants take their fundraising to the next level.

For more details on how your participants can optimise their fundraising pages, you can find helpful tips and tricks in our 2027 TCS London Marathon content calendar.

Well done again to all the good causes that took part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon. As the official fundraising partner until 2034, we’ll continue to put charities at the forefront of fundraising over the coming years, to ensure days like these lead to long term supporter relationships.
